José is an accomplished businessman and financial strategist with a distinguished career in investment management
and real estate development. An Industrial Engineer from Universidad de los Andes with a Master's in Financial
Engineering from Princeton University, he is recognized as one of the pioneers of institutional real estate
investment in Colombia.
He founded Patrimonio Estrategias Inmobiliarias (PEI), the country's first Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) and
leading real estate vehicle, taking it public (IPO) and generating transactions exceeding 100 million USD.
As the architect behind its structure, José led the negotiation and acquisition of commercial assets totaling more
than COP 2.5 billion, setting a new benchmark for institutional real estate in the region.
He later founded and served as President of Terranum, Colombia's first fully integrated real estate platform, with
assets under management of approximately USD 2.5 billion. Under his leadership, he also launched Terranum
Corporativo, the country's leading developer of tailor-made office and logistics centers, conceptualizing and
delivering rental projects with investments exceeding COP 2 billion.
Additionally, José founded Terranum Hotels, Colombia's foremost hospitality group, and led the acquisition of
Hoteles Decameron for USD 500 million, creating a portfolio of nearly 10,000 rooms across Latin America and
redefining the regional tourism landscape.
Currently, José serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Armilla Mantic and Armilla Capital, including the
FCP Armilla Capital, a Private Equity Fund focused on strategic investments in the logistics and tourism sectors.
